Beatitudes Week 8 - Do It Anyway

When you're actively involved in the world following Jesus by being a person of peace, healing, and justice, you can easily become a target for ridicule or criticism. How are we to respond when others mock or attack us and the path we're walking? Listen this week as Jesus offers us a happiness that isn't based on the externals we see in front of us but something deeper and more lasting.

Blessed are the Peacemakers

Peacemaking can feel like a daunting task in the divided world we live in. Join us as Dave shows how to be a peacemaker in our lives, intent on bringing healing and wholeness to all the situations we encounter throughout the week.

An undivided life

We all have an inner life and an outer life. One life is hidden, the other visible for all to see. In this sixth Beatitude, Jesus reveals the path to the good life is found as we bring our inner life and outer life into alignment. Listen this week as we discover the way to become more pure in heart, thus aligning our inner and outer lives.

The Merciful

Citizens of the Kingdom of God can be identified by their mercy. They radiate mercy, they're under the promise of mercy, and they are transformed by mercy. All because the King of those citizens is the God of mercy. Join Pastor Mitch as we review one of the most tender and rewarding characteristics of Jesus in our lives.

Hunger and Thirst

Rather than looking at desire as something negative, Jesus affirms desire as something that is good and inherent within us all. Listen this week as we discover how to fulfill our truest desires in a way that leads us into the good life.

Inheriting the earth

An inheritance is a gift freely given. How would life change if we saw all we own, including the land we live on, as a gift given to us by God and us simply as stewards of those gifts? Rather than hoarding and pursuing self interests, Jesus invites us into a life of using our gifts in a responsible, just way that brings blessing to others and the land itself.

Blessed are the Mourners

When you think about grief or mourning, most likely the last thing you think about is the good life. In fact, it probably feels like the very opposite. Yet, in this second beatitude, Jesus announces that the good life is found by those who mourn because of the comfort they discover in that process. Listen this week as Dave shows how mourning leads to a way of living that opens our heart to joy and deeply connects us with God, ourselves, and each other.

The Good Life - Poor in Spirit

The good life is what we all desire to live. Yet, why does the good life feel so elusive? Join us as we begin a new series on the Beatitudes exploring how Jesus teaches us to access this good life. And as we discover this morning, sometimes the good life is better and more accessible than the good life being advertised all around us.
